Ten Secrets of Success for the Soul
1. Love to Live, Live to Love. Love is not an emotion, it is a behavior. It is little acts of kindness and gentleness, faithfulness, friendship, appreciation, genuine concern and selfless support. There will be hard times, times when we don't feel loved, or feel that we have a loving spirit toward others. We need God's help. His love is being poured out to us, all of the time. Pray and ask God to reign on the throne of your heart and empower you with a loving spirit, that we may practice love for others.
2. Live to give, that others might live
3. Reject seeking any wealth that leads others into poverty
4. Reject seeking pleasure that leads others into pain
5. Enjoy the things of life without the need to own them (they aren’t yours anyway, they belong to god “the earth is the lord’s and everything in it.” Psalm-24: 1)
6. Enjoy the things of life for their usefulness, not for their status. Ecclesiastes 6:9 “better is the sight of the eyes than the wandering of desires, this also is vanity and grasping for the wind”. This says that one should enjoy the present instead of continually craving for that which is always just out of reach
7. Accept people without the need to manipulate and control people
8. Work to improve the public good, not to improve your good publicity
9. Of those differences in people, the little difference that makes the biggest difference is attitude. As we hope for a better life, a better future, develop an attitude of gratitude.
10. Live each day as if it were your last, for tomorrow is not promised to you and yesterday will never come again. "Seek first the Kingdom of God and His Righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you" Mathew 6:33 (NKJV).
